In the current era of increasingly prominent energy issues, energy-saving technologies for commercial central air conditioning have become the focus of industry competition. Domestic brands such as Gree, Midea, and Haier have achieved technological breakthroughs through independent research and development of core components, while some foreign brands have also shown their talents in technology optimization and product innovation.
In 2024, Gree's 120 ℃+industrial high-capacity high-efficiency high-temperature centrifugal heat pump, COP7.0+two-stage permanent magnet variable frequency screw chiller technology and application, key technology and application of high-efficiency intelligent environmental control system for subway stations under all working conditions, and key technology and application of magnetic levitation motor system have successively been awarded international leading awards.
The M-BMS intelligent building management system built by Midea achieves collaborative optimization of air conditioning, lighting, elevators and other equipment, and uses AI algorithms to save 30% of the overall building energy. After the application of this system in a commercial complex in Chongqing, the annual electricity cost savings exceeded 4 million yuan.
Haier Smart Building has launched a full scene smart low-carbon solution, with oil-free suspension high-efficiency cooling technology as the core. Through modular design and innovative energy-saving technology, it meets the needs of data centers of different scales and environments, significantly improving energy efficiency and deployment flexibility to build a low-carbon ecosystem throughout the entire chain.
Foreign brands strengthen their system integration capabilities and customized services to maintain competitiveness in the high-end market. For example, the VRV iZ series commercial central air conditioning launched by Daikin utilizes swing compressor technology to optimize the refrigerant circulation system and improve energy efficiency. During partial load operation, the energy efficiency of this series of units is improved by about 15% compared to traditional products. Hitachi's VAM Villa Zunrui series adopts high-efficiency DC variable speed compressors and new heat exchangers, combined with intelligent control systems, to achieve a dual improvement of energy saving and comfort.
Overall, the current energy-saving technologies for commercial central air conditioning mainly present three development directions: full frequency conversion, heat pump, and intelligence. Each brand needs to continue to increase research and development investment in new compression technologies, intelligent control systems, waste heat recovery and utilization, and promote the development of green buildings through energy-saving technology innovation.
