LG aims to become a global leader in HVAC

2025 07/15

LG Electronics recently held a press conference at LG Science Park in South Korea, announcing its strategic roadmap to become a top global provider of HVAC solutions by 2030. The company will focus on the growth of industrial and commercial B2B markets and launch customized products that better meet regional needs.
LG plans to achieve a revenue of KRW 20 trillion (approximately USD 14.4 billion) in its HVAC business by 2030. Among them, with the development of artificial intelligence driving the surge in cooling demand for data centers, it will become a key growth driver. LG expects to achieve sales of 1 trillion Korean won (approximately 720 million US dollars) in chillers within two years, and predicts that orders for data center cooling solutions will more than triple by 2025. Related technologies include liquid cooling systems (equipped with coolant distribution units), air systems based on chillers, and solutions suitable for DC environments.
To support these plans, LG has established an AI data center HVAC solution laboratory at the Pyeongtaek chiller plant in South Korea, which can conduct performance testing in simulated environments using AI. Meanwhile, the company has initiated pilot testing of liquid cooling technology with LG U+in South Korea. In order to strengthen its business in emerging markets, LG is expanding localized manufacturing and sales. In India, the company will establish a new product development team and plans to set up a production line at its factory in Sri City, India by 2026, with an annual air conditioning capacity of up to 1.5 million units.
